Full Job Description

Title: Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Location: Chappaqua, NY (Hybrid)
Schedule: Full-Time

Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote

Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Certified Professional Coder (CPC) to join our team. This role is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and accurately assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes for anesthesia services. The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced environment, maintains high accuracy standards, and contributes to meeting departmental productivity goals.

This position reports to a Coding Team Lead and plays a key role in ensuring compliant, timely, and accurate coding practices.

Key Responsibilities

Review handwritten and electronic anesthesia records to identify procedures and diagnoses
Assign accurate CPT and ICD-10 codes in accordance with current guidelines
Post charges and ensure compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
Reconcile posted charges against operating room schedules
Identify and investigate anesthesia time discrepancies; escalate complex issues as needed
Maintain minimum 95% coding accuracy and meet daily productivity benchmarks
Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding coding questions or issues
Adhere to all HIPAA and compliance standards

Qualifications

Required Certification: CPC (AAPC) or CCS (AHIMA)
Minimum 2+ years of professional anesthesia or surgical coding experience
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and coding guidelines
Familiarity with EPIC (preferred)
