Full Job Description

Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Traffic Modeling or Missile Tracking System Engineer role in Scottsdale, Arizona, with hybrid options available.

Location: Scottsdale, AZ — Hybrid options available
Position: Traffic Modeling or Missile Tracking System Engineer
Contract Length: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $73.51 per hour
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics field; 5+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience.
Clearance Requirement: Secret security clearance
Schedule: First Shift

In this role you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:

Develop and validate traffic models for satellite constellations and ground networks, ensuring efficient data flow and communication protocols.
Decompose system requirements into detailed architecture, interfaces, and behaviors for missile tracking or traffic modeling systems.
Analyze missile tracking data from satellite sensors, performing data fusion and validation to support rapid decision-making.
Design algorithms and system logic to solve complex problems related to satellite service scheduling, sensor fusion, and RF communication protocols.
Identify opportunities to incorporate AI and machine learning techniques for system optimization and continuous improvement.
Support system integration, testing, and maintenance of ground operational systems for the Space Force’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Recent experience modeling satellite-to-ground RF communication data, including end-to-end packet prioritization and routing.
Proven expertise in designing and developing missile tracking systems, including sensor fusion and algorithm development.
Familiarity with cloud technologies and their application in defense system deployment.
Experience with image processing, data handling, and storage solutions relevant to missile and satellite data.
Strong understanding of satellite scheduling, situational awareness, and RF communication protocols.
Ability to apply AI/ML techniques for system enhancement and operational efficiency.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on complex aerospace and defense systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM field
5+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience
Agile experience preferred
