Job Description: FileMaker and Web Developer
IAS is seeking a FileMaker and Web Developer to lead the ongoing development efforts of our proprietary association management system (the IAS-AMS) and our client websites. The IAS-AMS is a custom association management system built on Claris FileMaker Pro, serving as the relational database which handles membership management, event registration, and sales for IAS’ clients. The FileMaker and Web Developer will play a key role in enhancing the functionality of the IAS-AMS while integrating applications with APIs, external databases, and other systems. The applicant will also play a key role in overseeing end-to-end website development and certain internal IT operations for IAS and our clients.
A successful applicant will inherit significant responsibility from day one, effectively leading the systems development and technology operations for IAS and our client organizations. Select applicants will also see significant opportunities for upward mobility as IAS executes our growth plans.
This role is ideal for highly motivated, hard-working individuals who are comfortable managing projects while also performing the bulk of the hands-on work. Strong technical skills, robust attention to detail, and organizational best practices will be essential for the selected candidate.
Roles & Responsibilities
Ø IAS-AMS development through Claris FileMaker Pro, including adding new functionalities and application integrations
Ø Web development activities for the maintenance and improvement of IAS and GAS company websites
Ø Web development activities for the maintenance and improvement of client websites (four websites)
Ø Creation of new client websites when applicable
Ø Management of select internal IT needs, which may include network administration and connectivity, hardware and software procurement and lifecycle management, user accounts and access controls, email and productivity software administration, printers and peripherals, data backup and recovery, and cybersecurity and data protection
Ø Spearhead efficiency projects that integrate IAS’ core systems, including Sage accounting software, the FileMaker Pro database, and IAS and client websites
Ø Develop and integrate technology into client meetings (i.e., mobile app development)
Ø Provide day-to-day IT support to IAS staff and resolve help desk tickets as needed
Ø Develop, implement, and document IT policies, procedures, and security protocols
Ø Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and vendors that support IAS’ efficiency and growth
Ø Oversee website analytics and support social media analytics as needed
Ø Provide other ad-hoc project support and leadership as it relates to IAS’ web and technology strategy
Preferred Qualifications
Ø Bachelor’s degree in computer science, web development, information technology, or a related field
Ø Fluency in FileMaker Pro, C/C+, JavaScript, SQL, JSON, Microsoft 365
Ø Experience with web integrations (HTML5, JSON, REST APIs, Git)
Ø UI/UX design experience
Ø 5+ years of relevant professional work experience, including experience managing projects while also performing the bulk of the hands-on work
Ø Experience building and maintaining modern websites with back-end integrations for member logins, payments, and other database and software integrations
Ø Experience developing mobile applications
Ø Knowledge of managing internal IT infrastructure, including networking, hardware, software, and user support
Ø Knowledge of or experience in integrating websites with internal company systems and databases to streamline operations and gain efficiency
Ø Ability to concurrently manage multiple technology projects across IAS and multiple clients
Ø Strong attention to detail and robust written and verbal communication skills
Ø Advanced degree or professional certifications in a relevant field (computer science, information systems, networking, cybersecurity, etc.)
