COMPANY OVERVIEW:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Leader is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the day‑to‑day operations of our Greenwich, NY paper converting mill. This role develops and executes tactical plans to maximize productivity and reduce manufacturing costs through the efficient use of labor, equipment, materials, facilities, and capital.

With a hands‑on, visible leadership approach, the Production Leader actively engages with team members to train, coach, and develop talent while monitoring performance to ensure strong results in safety, production output, and quality control. This is a safety‑sensitive position and requires a high level of operational awareness and sound judgment.

The Production Leader also serves as a change agent, driving continuous improvement and streamlining processes to enhance overall operational effectiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide first shift and site level leadership and tactical management in a dynamic and collaborative environment
Provide direction, coaching and support to the on-site leadership team
Promote, implement, and audit continuous improvement in all areas of focus including safety, production and quality control
Partners with Human Resources to lead the manufacturing workforce; Implementing policies, procedures, and systems. Also assessing performance and developing training plans to improve employee capability. All while working in "concert" with the VP of Manufacturing and SVP of Operations
Hire, train and discharge employees in accordance with our company policies and code of conduct.
Review all production orders and processing schedules and make critical decisions about workflow strategies to ensure all customers receive goods on time
Participate in the Annual Planning Sessions to identify the objectives & goals to be meet or exceeded for the upcoming year. Specific Focus areas of: Safety, Health, Environment, Quality, Production Cost and Efficiencies.
Track the assigned areas of responsibility and be prepared to report out on a weekly and quarterly cadence.
Set and monitor product standards by implementing testing procedures to assure ongoing product quality and performance to ensure our customers receive goods of the highest quality.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with OSHA standards
Work with Human Resources and Maintenance to conduct annual audits of the facility safety system to ensure compliance in training, certifications, and audits.
Facilitate production team meetings which include effective communication of organizational and policy changes
Recommend and/or implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, labor, wages and salaries
Provide performance feedback and coaching to leadership team members via evaluations and/or other documentation.
Implementing policies, procedures, and systems.
Assessing performance and developing training plans to improve Leadership Skills.
Promote positive employee relations through effective conflict management and issue resolution
Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum High School diploma or GED
Minimum 6 years’ experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, and/or distribution setting
Minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience. Experience leading multi-shift operations is preferred.
Demonstrated technical proficiency with the ability to quickly master manufacturing processes and ensure the team develops strong technical expertise (including completion and oversight of OJT checklists for Tier 1 assets).
Proven leadership and communication skills with the ability to train, mentor, and develop employees in RCA, 5S, and centerline practices to drive improvements in safety, quality, and productivity.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, including skill in root‑cause analysis, benchmarking, and interpreting centerline and equipment performance data (e.g., operator checklists, downtime documentation).
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic production environment with adaptability to schedule changes and evolving operational priorities.
Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office applications and the ability to use digital tools to support reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Availability to reliably work 6:30am to 4:30pm.

Pay: $79,090.00 - $92,535.00 per year
