Full Job Description

Temporary Litigation Paralegal / Law Clerk

The Goodell Law Firm is a boutique litigation firm focused on consumer protection, wrongful foreclosure, mortgage servicing, and real property litigation. We are seeking a temporary Litigation Paralegal or Law Clerk to assist with a busy litigation docket through at least the end of August, with the possibility of extension or permanent employment for the right candidate.

About the Role

This is a hands-on opportunity to work closely with an experienced trial attorney on sophisticated state and federal litigation. You will gain meaningful experience drafting pleadings, conducting legal research, preparing discovery, and assisting with all phases of litigation in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and discovery
Conduct legal research on consumer protection, mortgage servicing, foreclosure, and real property issues
Assist with document review, discovery management, and trial preparation
Organize case files and litigation exhibits
Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings when appropriate
Provide general litigation support on active cases

Qualifications

We welcome applicants with one or more of the following backgrounds:

Experienced litigation paralegal
J.D. from an accredited law school
Recent law school graduate
Strong legal research, writing, and organizational skills
Interest in consumer protection, civil litigation, or real property law
Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines

Prior litigation experience is preferred but not required for candidates with strong academic credentials and excellent writing skills.

Potential for Advancement

This position is expected to continue through at least the end of August. Depending on workload and performance, there may be an opportunity for the position to be extended or converted into a permanent role, including an associate attorney position for candidates who become licensed in California.

Compensation

$35–$40 per hour, depending on experience.
