ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to specialize in tax preparation, bookkeeping, or a mix of both, depending on your background and career goals.

No prior experience is required - we provide comprehensive training for motivated candidates. However, a CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential is preferred for candidates with a tax-focused background.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Tax Preparation

Prepare and assist in reviewing individual, corporate and partnership tax returns
Organize and analyze client financial data for accurate tax filings
Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documentation
Research basic tax issues and stay up to date with tax law changes

Bookkeeping

Reconcile bank and credit card statements
Prepare accurate financial reports
Process payroll and sales tax filings
Maintain and update QuickBooks files (Desktop and Online) for client accounts

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree in Accounting (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
CPA or EA designation preferred (not required)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office is a plus, but not required
Salary dependent upon level of experience
