Alternative investment manager that applies specialized credit investing expertise focused on unlocking opportunistic market performance and delivering risk-adjusted returns through all market conditions.

Firm offers a curated array of U.S. municipal bond-focused investment products that may be tailored to meet investor priorities and risk parameters.

Application Developer and Operational Support Role

The Application Developer will develop and maintain in-house software to automate various aspects of fund operation and data analysis. This role will work directly with users across the organization and should be able to navigate unclear and rapidly-changing requirements with limited direction. Role requires a broad skill/interest-base and will include both development and ongoing operational support, as well as frequent adhoc analysis projects.

Application development creates solutions for:

Investment Management and decision support
Trading
Operations and trade processing
Portfolio monitoring and risk measurement
Accounting and performance measurement
Business intelligence and management reporting

The primary application stack is a domain-driven service-oriented lambda architecture based on Java (RMI/JMS) and Postgres with liberal use of Spring and Hibernate. Front end applications were mostly developed as Java web applications and eclipse RCP fat applications. Assorted small utilities and integrations utilize a broad spectrum of technologies, apis, and services local and remote. Python and Excel are used extensively for scripting, adhoc analysis and communication.

Capabilities, Skills, and Characteristics

Comfortable navigating small, dynamic environment with informal direction
Strong analytic, quantitative, and data engineering required
Familiarity with common data integration patterns and data formats
Exposure to common software design patterns
Hedge fund experience and operational knowledge preferred
Fixed income and municipal bond knowledge preferred
