Office Locations: Chicago

We are seeking an enthusiastic professional Legal Assistant to join our Chicago office. The ideal candidate should demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative, a desire to forge powerful relationships, hone their skills and deliver excellent work to advance their career at Quarles.

This position will be 100% on-site in our Chicago office for the first 90-days of employment. Following this time, the position may allow for a hybrid schedule dependent upon the needs of the practice group.

Key Responsibilities

Assists attorneys in preparing, proofreading, revising and finalizing legal documents
Copies, distributes, sends (electronically and/or via mail, courier or express service), files and otherwise handles completed work.
Maintains confidential information, files, records, legal documents and reports.
Submits intake and conflict checks, processes time entry and some client billing.
Maintains attorneys’ calendars, schedules travel, appointments, meetings and conferences.
Supports attorneys in connection with all aspects of client relationships and business development.
Other duties as assigned.

Prior executive assistant, administrative, or professional office experience preferred; legal assistant experience is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong organizational skills, professionalism, and an interest in the legal field
Possess a positive attitude, be proactive, flexible and a team player
Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Professional.
Skilled with use of electronic document management systems.
Possess strong organizational, communication and client services abilities.
Detail oriented with excellent grammar, spelling and proofreading.
Ability to prioritize needs based on urgency, multi-task and work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Ability to work overtime, when needed.

Benefit eligibility is dependent on hours. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience, education and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The range for this position for individuals physically located in Chicago is $27.00 - $50.06/hour.
