Full Job Description

We are a growing, mid-sized, General Contractor based in Alexandria, Virginia, performing work in the area of Washington DC and surrounding counties. Our customers include local municipalities, and Federal and State Agencies. Typical projects consist of water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, road and bridge construction. VDOT Experience.

Sagres Construction, Corporation is seeking a competent Utilities Superintendent with knowledge and experience in bridges, heavy highway and utility construction. The Superintendent will oversee all field operations on a project to ensure that self-performed and subcontracted trade work is in compliance with contract documents and the project schedule.

Responsibilities

Responsible for on-site coordination, subcontractor scheduling, quality control inspections, daily reports and client satisfaction.
Managing the day-to-day field activities to ensure that the project milestone dates and overall schedule completion dates are met.
Creating weekly look-ahead schedules to ensure upcoming events are communicated and tracked.
Communicating regularly with Property Managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and others.
They will need to do the general inspection of the workers and their performance daily.
Know the scheduled delivery dates for all critical path material and equipment.
Logging detailed daily reports to be distributed to the project team.
Report to the job each day and stay on the job until the end of each day.
Maintaining site safety in accordance with OSHA.
Verifying all work is performed with quality.
Implement the company’s safety policies.
Assist in resolution of scope conflicts.

Qualification:

· Must have concrete, storm drain, water main and sewer experience *Required*

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Demonstrated leadership experience
Strong time management & organizational skills
Personnel management
Effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external contacts
Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record
10 Years of VDOT experience

Job Type: Full-time
