Full Job Description

The LEARN LAB is seeking a highly motivated part-time assistant research scientist. The selected candidate will receive $22/hour for 15 hours/week and can work remotely. The goal of the project is to develop a large dataset of transcripts of parent-child interaction. The assistant research scientist will be involved in creating and editing transcripts. The research assistant will be supervised by the PI (Dr. Sudha Arunachalam).

Position Responsibilities :

Edit transcripts of parent-child interaction using CHAT format, a specialized transcription system developed for facilitating analysis of language data.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly base rate for this position is $22/hour. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Per NYU's remote-work policy, this position is expected to be fully remote.

This position has no supervisory responsibilties.

Coursework in linguistics or communication sciences and disorders, including phonetics and language acquisition OR equivalent experience.
Knowledge of CHAT transcription system.
Experience working with children or with listening to child speech.
