Full Job Description

Overview:

Our team is looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Marketing Assistant to provide support to our marketing manager, leadership team and ownership. In this role, you will work closely with our staff to produce marketing materials, research industry trends, and gather client stories and experiences and share on a broader scale via social media or the web. You will also assist with event planning, scheduling, and other administrative tasks as necessary. Our ideal candidate has some marketing experience and is self-motivated to complete tasks on a deadline with little supervision.

Responsibilities

Assist with social media content creation and scheduling for both Nelson Produce Farm and Nelson Produce Stands social media accounts
Capture photo and video content during events, festivals, and daily farm operations
Design graphics, merchandise, signage, advertisements, and marketing materials using Canva and Adobe Illustrator
Assist with website updates, event pages, blogs, landing pages, and promotional materials through Wix
Help maintain and update event information, calendars, and seasonal website content
Assist with email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and promotional emails
Assist in creating, managing, and monitoring digital advertisements and social media ads
Respond to social media messages, comments, and customer inquiries professionally and promptly
Help coordinate marketing campaigns, on-site promotions, giveaways, and seasonal advertising efforts
Assist with influencer outreach, partnerships, and community collaborations
Work alongside and support the Marketing Manager in implementing the overall marketing vision, including signage placement for maximum visibility and impact, farm layout planning, seasonal decorations, and event presentation throughout the property
Help maintain brand consistency across all digital and print marketing platforms
Assist with additional administrative and marketing tasks as needed

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred or currently pursuing a degree in marketing, advertising, communications, social media, graphic design, business, or related field
Previous experience in marketing, social media, event marketing, customer service, content creation, or email marketing preferred
Proficient with Google Workspace products, Canva, CapCut, and Adobe Illustrator preferred
Familiarity with Wix, social media platforms, Meta Business Suite, and email marketing platforms preferred
Ability to create graphics, marketing materials, email campaigns, advertisements, and visual content
Strong understanding of current social media trends and content creation
Ability to handle multiple projects with varied timelines in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated and able to complete tasks on deadlines with minimal supervision
Creative mindset with strong attention to detail
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Photography, videography, or video editing experience is a plus
Weekend and occasional evening availability during festival seasons preferred

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree preferred or currently pursuing a degree in marketing, advertising, social media, graphic design, communications, or related field

Experience

Marketing or Social Media: 1 year preferred
Customer service: 1 year preferred
