The Assistant Director of Online Business Programs serves as a trusted guide throughout the student journey, helping students navigate enrollment, achieve academic success, and reach their personal and professional goals.
This student-centered position serves as both a guide and advocate for students throughout their academic journey, providing enrollment coaching, academic advising, and personalized support from inquiry through graduation. Working closely with the Program Director, you will help create an exceptional online learning experience by building meaningful relationships with students, identifying opportunities for program improvement, and contributing to the continued growth and success of Whitworth Online.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Enrollment Coaching | 35%

Provide admissions support and enrollment coaching for prospective students.

Advise prospective students regarding career opportunities and degree requirements.

Perform transfer evaluations and degree mapping for prospective students.

Evaluate applications for admission and refer to the committee for admissions decision.

Communicate consistently with prospective students, providing accurate and compelling program information and enhancing enrollment commitment.
Academic Advising and Student Support | 35%

Provide academic advising for students.

Advise approximately 100 current students in the preparation and processing of registrations, twice annually. Support these same students with occasional academic interventions, petitions, and other unique academic requests.

Monitor student success metrics (including course engagement and degree progress) and initiate academic success conversations as needed.

Keep accurate and timely records in database software of all advising interactions with students, including changes to anticipated graduate dates, course registration, and academic standing.

Evaluate and coordinate files for degree requirements and submit them to the registrar for final degree posting.

Research internship opportunities, advise students to pursue learning opportunities outside of the classroom, and assist them with the process of arranging these opportunities.

Nominate and evaluate students for internal scholarships and recognitions.

Participate in undergraduate commencement each May.
Program Development and Feedback | 15%

Support the program director in the delivery of a relevant and student-centered degree program.

Communicate with the program director regarding feedback received from prospective and current students.

Discuss student concerns, student academic progress, and appropriate interventions with the program director.

Contribute ideas and information about student accomplishments for promotional purposes (i.e. social media posts, newsletter content, featured student stories, etc.).
Collaboration and Operations | 10%

Collaborate with team members in the general operations of the school.

Attend weekly staff and committee meetings to coordinate efforts and ensure consistency across programs.

Collaborate with assistant directors to plan and coordinate student admissions and registration processes, student orientations, and other academic support activities.

Work with staff to coordinate special events that build community and a sense of belonging for students (i.e. celebration meals, commencement planning, publications shoots, etc.).

Liaise with other student service offices on campus, including Registrar, Financial Aid, and Student Accounts.

Support the admissions team with recruitment events and activities as needed.

Provide insight to the SCS leadership team on the schedule of course offerings.
Additional Contributions | 5%

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Schedule
Full-time (1.0 FTE) | 12 months | 40 hours per week
Whitworth office hours are 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday – Friday

Flexible options are available after the initial appointment period.

Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings (until 6:15 PM) and occasional weekends for events or activities.

Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation for local travel as needed.

Willingness to participate in evening and weekend events to support program goals.
