About the role
We are a senior living community seeking an experienced Director of Business, HR & Payroll Operations to oversee the financial, administrative, human resources, and payroll functions of our facility. This role blends strategic business office management with hands-on HR and payroll leadership, ensuring efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and strong support for staff and organizational goals. The position reports directly to the Administrator / Director.
What you'll do
Business office management
- Coordinate facility financial billing and collections in cooperation with third parties
- Supervise business office staff and monitor billing and collection activities
- Ensure compliance with accounting controls and procedures; analyze monthly collections
- Assess bad debt reserves and recommend write-offs; ensure accurate month-end closing
- Maintain all required records in conformance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in routine financial meetings
Payroll administration
- Process full-cycle payroll for all facility staff accurately and on schedule
- Ensure accuracy of PBJ reporting, timekeeping, and PTO accruals in HRIS
- Coordinate employee deductions, garnishments, and tax withholdings
- Reconcile payroll records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain compliance with federal and state payroll regulations
HR & benefits
- Administer HR functions including hiring, onboarding, background checks, I-9 verification, and time attendance
- Coordinate employee benefits, deductions, FMLA/CFML leave, and workers' compensation claims
- Support management with interviews, performance evaluations, and disciplinary processes
- Maintain HR records, personnel files, and compliance with federal/state posting requirements
- Serve as a facility resource for staff education, payroll support, and HR customer service
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in third-party billing/collections; at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Hands-on payroll processing experience; familiarity with HRIS and timekeeping platforms
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and standard office equipment
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing admissions, HR, and payroll compliance
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold resident rights and dignity

Compensation & details
Salary
$90,000 annually, paid bi-weekly via direct deposit
Classification
Salaried exempt — 40 hours per week
Schedule
Monday – Friday, standard business hours
Setting
On-site, well-lit and well-ventilated work environment
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
