Full Job Description

About Us:

WeatherGard has been a Michigan leader in windows, doors, roofing, and insulation for nearly 40 years. Based in Farmington, we take pride in our strong company culture, high-quality products, and commitment to customer satisfaction. We’re looking for a dedicated Human Resources Assistant to support our growing team and help drive our people strategy forward.

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Assistant will oversee all aspects of HR operations, helping to create a positive work environment and supporting both employees and leadership. This position requires a hands-on, strategic thinker who is comfortable wearing many hats in a fast-paced business.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the onboarding processes company-wide
Oversee employee relations and resolve workplace issues professionally
Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws
Administer employee benefits and manage 401(k) enrollment and support
Process weekly payroll and assist Office Manager in needed tasks
Conduct and coordinate performance reviews and employee development plans
Maintain and update the employee handbook, HR policies, and procedures
Manage employee records, HR software systems, and reporting
Advise leadership on workforce planning and organizational development

Qualifications:

5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
Strong understanding of HR regulations and employment law
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all departments
HR certification (SHRM or HRCI) preferred but not required
