Job description:

We are an established Architectural firm looking for a talented controller to join our dynamic team in Manhattan. In this vital role, you will oversee our firm's financial management and ensure precision in recording, analyzing, and reporting all economic data.

We seek candidates with a robust design and architectural industry background who thoroughly understand architectural accounting principles, practices, and local regulations. This is a remarkable opportunity to join a flourishing private company that fosters a culture of appreciation and values proactive leadership.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for in-office administration, including the ability to perform technical accounting tasks. The successful candidate will be able to utilize various tools and programs to perform the following;

· Prepare and coordinate budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reports.

· Achieving budget objectives by reviewing expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

· Continuous monitoring and assessing the firm’s financial health by conducting internal and facilitating external audits.

· Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, billing, revenue recognition, and cost accounting

· Payroll – responsible for all aspects of the firm’s payroll operations for employees

· Implement the necessary processes to ensure quality control over the firm’s financial transactions and reporting.

· Coordinate and prepare month-end and year-end closing processes and prepare monthly financial statements.

· Keep current on all relevant federal, state, and local compliance and reporting requirements and prepare all requisite regulatory reports and filings.

· Anticipate regulatory changes and advise management accordingly.

· Prepare special reports as needed.

· Ability to execute the firm’s strategic growth vision by taking a holistic and proactive approach to every aspect of the firm’s financial process.

· Guide financial decisions and protect company assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, procedures, and internal controls.

· Assist the Project Managers, Architects, and Interior Design personnel in tracking all costs associated with current projects and generate monthly client progress billing

· Compile and analyze detailed job cost reports

Requirements:

· Advanced degree in accounting; CPA preferred.

· Minimum of 5 years of combined accounting and financial experience, including financial statements, ledger functions, and month-end/year-end processes.

· Exceptional accounting software knowledge and proficiency

· Proven administrative and managerial skills.

· Must work well independently and in team environments.

· Must be a critical thinker, problem-solver, and tech-savvy with the ability to learn new software quickly.

· Strong attention to detail, practical oral and written communication skills, active listening skills, the ability to assess and evaluate business needs and exposure, and the ability to identify critical issues & solutions quickly and accurately.

· Expirience with Ajera is required

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
