Full Job Description

At WDS Construction, our Accounting team plays an essential role in keeping projects moving and supporting the people behind them. As an Accounting Specialist, you’ll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to help ensure the financial side of our projects runs smoothly from start to finish. What You’ll Do

As an Accounting Specialist, you’ll support both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions while collaborating with project managers, subcontractors, and clients throughout the construction process. Responsibilities include:

Process subcontractor pay applications and vendor invoices.
Prepare monthly owner billings and project draws.
Maintain vendor compliance documentation, including lien waivers, joint checks, Notices of Furnishing (NOFs), and related paperwork.
Release subcontractor and supplier payments once compliance requirements have been met.
Respond to billing and payment questions from subcontractors and clients.
Help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies.
Support special accounting projects and other departmental initiatives.

An Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent education and experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A collaborative mindset and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
A willingness to learn, improve processes, and contribute to the success of the team.

Associate (Required)

Experience:

Sage Intacct: 1 year (Preferred)
1099, Sales Tax and/or Insurance: 1 year (Preferred)
