Full Job Description

Job Summary: The Accounts Receivable Specialist provides administrative support to facilitate the accounts receivable process as well as collections and billing.

Essential Functions:

Track and resolve outstanding payment issues and generate weekly aging reports in a timely manner
Place collection calls and initiate written correspondence to customers
Provide customer service regarding collection issues, process customer refunds, process and review account adjustments, resolve client discrepancies and short payments
Monitor and maintain assigned accounts - customer calls, account adjustments, small balance write off and customer reconciliations
Reduce delinquency for assigned accounts
Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process
Communicate and follow up effectively with direct manager regarding customer accounts on a timely basis
Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers and company staff
Weekly and monthly reporting to direct supervisor
High volume phone calls / emails to assigned delinquent customers / company staff
Reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances
Participate in team planning meetings
Meet defined department goals
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

High school diploma required, associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred with 1-3 years high volume corporate collections experience
Knowledge of billing and collections procedures
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
Commitment to excellent customer service
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Experience within the trucking industry a plus
Must possess a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multitask and be a strong communicator, both paper and over the phone
