Accounts Payable Specialist

Rich’s for the Home has been the leading specialty retailer for lifestyle and home goods in the Greater Seattle Area since 1979. With six locations in the Puget Sound Region and our recently opened location in Tigard, Oregon. We provide our customers with the highest quality products at fair prices, and our employees with the tools to achieve and excel in their field. Due to an upcoming retirement, we are looking for an energetic, motivated replacement individual.

The Position: Working out of our Lynnwood location, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the company's accounts payable process by ensuring invoices are processed accurately and paid on time. There will also be some general HR duties that may be needed to assist the HR Manager as well. Overlap training will be provided. Candidates must be a quick learner, organized, and and multi-tasker with a positive attitude. The Candidates also must be proficient in Math and have basic Computer Knowledge. This is a full time Monday thru Friday position and the hours worked can be flexible.

This Job Is:

Key Responsibilities:

- Review, Verify and Process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval

- Match Purchase Orders, Receipts and Invoices as required

- Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH Payments and wire transfers

- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

- Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9 forms and payment information

- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices, payment status and account balances

- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures and internal controls

- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing accounts payable reports and reconciliations

- Process employee expense reimbursements in accordance with company policy documentation

- Support audits by providing requested documentation and reports

- Collaborate with purchasing, receiving and accounting teams to resolve invoice and payment issues

- Determine appropriate processes for various invoice types including freight, materials, utilities, services and non PO invoices

- Support multiple locations and manage high volume of invoices

- Prioritize daily workload

- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Skills Required:

- ABILITY TO MULTI TASK IS OF EXTREME IMPORTANCE

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes

- Knowledge of 1099 reporting requirements (preferred)

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

- Strong organizational, communication and problem solving skills

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information

- Experience working in a fast-paced business environment
