Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Invoice Processor to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the accurate processing of invoices, ensuring timely payments and precise record-keeping. Your expertise will support our company's financial health by maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient financial operations within a dynamic organization committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

Review and verify incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Enter invoice data into various financial software systems such as Workday, SAP, or QuickBooks with precision using Excel data analysis skills and VLOOKUP functions.
Reconcile accounts payable transactions through detailed account reconciliation procedures, ensuring all debits & credits are correctly posted.
Prepare and process journal entries related to accounts payable and expense accruals, maintaining double entry bookkeeping standards.
Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing clients, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts using systems like Paychex or ADP.
Assist with month-end closing activities by performing general ledger reconciliation and supporting audit requests related to invoice processing.
Support compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by documenting procedures and maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
Collaborate with human resources on benefits administration and payroll management tasks when necessary, utilizing HRIS platforms such as UltiPro or Kronos.

Experience

Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on accounts payable, invoice processing, or bookkeeping.
Strong understanding of accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar systems; experience with financial software like QuickBooks or Quicken is highly desirable.
Familiarity with public accounting practices and governmental accounting standards is a plus.
Demonstrated proficiency in Excel formulas, data analysis techniques, and 10-key typing skills for efficient data entry.
Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger accounting accurately under tight deadlines.
Excellent analysis skills combined with a strong grasp of technical accounting concepts like debits & credits and double entry bookkeeping principles.
