Full Job Description

Job Title: SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Role and Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. This role plays a key part in month-end closings, financial reporting, and maintaining internal controls to support accurate financial statements.

Essential Job Results:

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Manage month-end closing procedures and submit reviewed financials for approval
Analyze financial statements for accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Includes 3-month trend analysis w/ explanations of variances.)
Prepare internal financial reports and prepare external reports to parent company as needed
Maintain and reconcile GL accounts: e.g. bank & CC accts, accruals, prepaids, & fixed assets.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
Ensure timely and accurate filing of state & provincial taxes
Revenue recognition: Ensure all projects have approved materials & freight budget; Monthly – Update revenue recognition workbook, zero out clearing acct, & record revenue; Add & remove new and finalized projects as needed and record true-up entries as required
Ad-hoc projects and reports as needed

Requirements:

In office (Dover, NH)
Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting (preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong Excel & Office Suite skills
Experience with Zoho CRM / Zoho Books is a plus
Solid understanding of accounting theory and GAAP

Core competencies:

Flexibility and proactive mindset, can-do attitude and self-motivated to learn new tasks
Excellent organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail
Works well independently, is resourceful, and has good problem solving skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 per year
