Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for assisting the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and supporting overall financial integrity. Your expertise in accounting software, financial concepts, and compliance standards will drive efficiency and accuracy in our financial operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing organization committed to excellence and transparency.

Duties

Process and verify all incoming invoices using various accounting software such as AppFolio, ensuring adherence to company policies and GAAP standards.
Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies related to accounts payable transactions.
Prepare and record journal entries for payments, accruals, and other relevant financial activities with precision.
Manage vendor setup, maintenance, and communication to ensure accurate payment processing through systems like AppFolio, and Pinnacle Card.
Support compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by documenting procedures and maintaining audit-ready records.
Assist with month-end closing activities by reconciling the general ledger accounts related to payables and ensuring data accuracy.
Collaborate with the human resources team on benefits administration and payroll management processes involving ADP systems.
Contribute to process improvements by analyzing workflows related to accounts payable and recommending efficiencies.

Experience

Proven experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles within a corporate environment, preferably with exposure to residential multi-family housing.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles such as GAAP, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial concepts.
Hands-on experience with accounting software including AppFolio, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation, journal entries, data entry (10 key typing), and general ledger reconciliation.
Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

Pay: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour
