The State Group is seeking a Senior Accountant based in Evansville, Indiana. This position reports directly to the Regional Controller.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Prepare, review, and analyze the Work in Progress (WIP) report and work with project managers, division managers, and contract administrators for accurate cost projections
Facilitate the completion of monthly sales and costs forecasts for all assigned divisions.
Compile financial information and prepare journal entries to produce accrual and cash-basis monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. Review and post entries as required.
Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations, recommending corrective entries and performing follow-up.
Prepare accurate and timely departmental reports with an analysis of the results.
Analyze transactions and ensure all are entered into the system on a timely basis. Review, follow up, and report on exceptions.
Maintain reports, spreadsheets, charts, and graphs to assist in the interpretation of operating results.
Review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, contracts, and vouchers, for accuracy.
Protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Contribute to a team effort with various data entry and miscellaneous assignments and other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO JOIN OUR TEAM

4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
Experience with financial software and advanced MS Excel experience, including linking documents, working with formulas, and creating pivot tables.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks effectively.
