Job Description

Job Title: Lead Java Full Stack Developer

Location: Wilmington, DE

Duration: 2+ years

Required Experience “Minimum 10 to 15 Years years

Overview

The people they are seeking, now, will be part of their Enterprise Platform Migration effort. This is a highly agile shop. The enterprise platform is built on Domain Driven design, with Event Driven architecture and Event Driven Microservices. They make extensive use of CQRS, Spring Boot and Axon. Object-oriented programming, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) are all a vital part of all development.

Candidates don’t have to have this knowledge but need to have very strong object-oriented programming experience at minimum.

** PLEASE NOTE – Candidates will be asked to complete a Coding Challenge exercise in order to be considered for this engagement. This exercise should take several hours. The candidate's response should be production-ready. (The more production-ready, the better it will appear to the review team)

This is the candidate's opportunity to demonstrate their Java coding skills and expertise.

Main Skills / Talking points

Passion for software engineering and software craftsman-like coding skills
Looking for people who have built/scaled systems that service a large user base (millions).
Object-oriented programming, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation)
Event driven architecture
Domain modeling / Domain driven design experience
Axon Framework would be a big plus.
Gang-of-four design patterns (e.g. Observer, Factory, Command, Singleton, Decorator, etc.)

They need of people who:

Are VERY strong, and expert, in Object-Oriented Programming
Have a high level of enthusiasm and passion for this type of work.
Are coding CRAFTSPEOPLE who take a great deal of pride in the efficient, high-level sophistication of their code.
Have built/scaled systems that service a large user base (i.e. millions).
(in a perfect world) Contribute to Open Source projects.

They have, to this point, made a point of assembling a team of top notch developers who have experience in breaking down monolithic applications using event driven microservices. They are now looking for more.

Nice To Have

KEY SKILLS - Need a Distributed Systems Engineer with

CQRS (Command Query Responsibility Segregation)
Event driven architecture
Domain modeling Domain driven design experience
Axon Framework would be a big plus.

Technologies (Strongly desired, but experience with equivalent technologies will work)

Programming Languages Java 8, Groovy, GoLang, Cotlin, SQL, Shell

Patterns and Techniques Domain-driven design, Command Query Responsibility Segregation

(CQRS), Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), Functional Programming

Platforms OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS

Soft Skills / Competencies (the more, the better)

Passion for software engineering and software craftsman-like coding skills

Ability to conceptualize and develop cloud-native, production ready applications process
