Full Job Description

We are looking for a highly capable Software Engineer with strong Salesforce App Development experience to lead development on a specific, scoped initiative including integration into an existing published Salesforce AppExchange application.

This is not a generic Salesforce admin or customization role. The work centers on product-level development, including enhancements to an existing app.

The initial engagement is project-based. If we see strong progress and velocity, we hope to hire the engineer full time to join our small team. This is intended to be a succinct project to see how we work together and how efficient you can be. The interview process will first be a discussion of fit and compatibility, then a discussion of the project. We will determine the project scope and payment on completion - if you can be more efficient, then the effective hourly rate will be higher.

What You’ll Do:

Take a PRD and working prototype and complete the project, including extension into the Salesforce App. Heavy on the AI application.
Work directly with product leadership to make sure any development meets clean, scalable architecture
Own the end-to-end app development lifecycle, including:
Apex, LWC, and platform services
Packaging strategy (managed/unlocked)
Versioning and release management
Navigate and execute the Salesforce AppExchange deployment process, including:
Security review considerations
Metadata packaging and upgrades
Environment strategy (scratch orgs, sandboxes, production)
Integrate and leverage AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate delivery and improve code quality
Identify opportunities to modernize or simplify legacy patterns in the current app

Required Experience

Full Stack Software development.
Proven experience building and maintaining Salesforce AppExchange apps with strong command of:
Apex
Lightning Web Components (LWC)
Salesforce platform architecture and limits
Direct experience with:
Managed packages and/or unlocked packages
AppExchange submission and deployment processes
Ability to independently handle release cycles, upgrades, and versioning
World class attention to QA, Testing and Monitoring

AI / Development Expectations

This role requires strong, practical use of AI in development workflows. You should:

Be fluent in AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, GPT-based workflows, etc.)
Use AI to:
Accelerate development
Improve test coverage and debugging
Generate and refine architecture options
Understand where AI helps—and where it introduces risk

Ideal Profile

Product-minded developer (not just ticket execution)
Comfortable working in lightweight, fast-moving environments
Able to balance speed vs. platform constraints
Interested in building something that could evolve into a meaningful product within the Salesforce ecosystem

Engagement Structure

Initial engagement is project-based and clearly scoped
Flexible hours; suitable for freelance or moonlighting
If progress is strong, we plan to:
Expand into ongoing development
Invest more deeply in the product
Potentially pursue aggressive feature expansion to compete with incumbents
