Full Job Description

FlexForce is seeking a motivated and professional Assistant Manager for an affordable housing community. The ideal candidate will have experience with affordable housing programs, strong customer service skills, and the ability to support daily property management operations. This individual will work closely with the Property Manager to ensure compliance, maintain resident satisfaction, and assist with administrative and leasing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Assist the Property Manager with the day-to-day operations of the property.
Process resident applications, move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals.
Maintain accurate resident files and ensure compliance with affordable housing regulations.
Perform income certifications and recertifications in accordance with program guidelines.
Utilize Yardi software for property management, resident records, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with HUD Section 202, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), and HOME Program requirements.
Provide exceptional customer service to current and prospective residents.
Assist with rent collection, delinquency follow-up, and resident correspondence.
Coordinate maintenance requests and communicate with the maintenance team to ensure timely completion.
Support occupancy goals by assisting with leasing activities and resident retention initiatives.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information and company records.
Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Leasing Consultant, Occupancy Specialist, or Property Manager in affordable housing preferred.
Working knowledge of Yardi property management software.
Experience with one or more of the following programs:
HUD Section 202
Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)
HOME Program
Strong understanding of affordable housing compliance and resident eligibility requirements.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in Business, Property Management, or a related field is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
Experience with affordable housing certifications and compliance.
Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations.
Ability to build positive relationships with residents, staff, and vendors.
