Full Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant position is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely accounting for HM Equipment, CPH Holdings, Pathways, other real estate holding entities, and owners’ asset accounts.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Bank reconciliations and various treasury functions, including cash flow management between various bank accounts and entities.
Bank deposits along with accurate applications of deposits made.
Tax compliance payments.
Maintenance of various spreadsheets to support financial transactions and analysis of various expenses.
Month end closing process and preparation of financial statements for various entities.
Assist in preparation of audit work papers for year-end audits with outside auditors.
Assist in executing company internal control policies and procedures.
Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Assistant Controller.

MUST HAVE — REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Must have at least 2-4 years of direct work experience as a staff accountant or bookkeeper.
Detail oriented and demonstrates a positive attitude.
Must possess excellent communication and organization skills.
Preferred to have a BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other type of related field of study.
Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Pass mandatory drug test required.
Must be able to read and write in English and/or Spanish at a level sufficient to follow safety instructions, complete required documentation accurately, and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.

NICE TO HAVE — PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field of study.
Experience with Vista Viewpoint or other construction accounting software.
Experience in real estate or holdings entity accounting.
CPA certification or progress toward certification.

Financial accuracy: completes bank reconciliations and treasury functions with consistent precision.
Analytical thinking: interprets financial data and identifies discrepancies requiring correction.
Organization: manages month-end close processes and financial statements for multiple entities.
Tax compliance: processes tax payments accurately and by required deadlines.
Communication: coordinates effectively with Assistant Controller and cross-functional teams.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
