CAD Technician

Fulltime, Permanent position in Napa County, CA

Our client is a full-service land surveying, planning, and civil engineering firm based in St. Helena, serving clients throughout Northern California, including Napa, Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, Marin, and Solano counties. The company has been in operation since 1991 and has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality surveying services, creative site design solutions, and effective project management for a wide range of projects.

The business supports industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential developments and provides services such as boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, subdivision mapping, construction staking, land development mapping, permitting, and site analysis. Their clients include engineers, architects, developers, municipalities, attorneys, realtors, and private property owners.

The firm combines decades of local expertise with modern surveying technology and CAD software to deliver projects accurately, on schedule, and within budget. Their team includes licensed surveyors and experienced professionals with more than 100 years of combined industry experience.

Draft Technician (CAD Technician)

The Draft Technician is responsible for reviewing survey notes, field data, and measurements provided by survey crews to create accurate technical drawings and plans using CAD software. This position is primarily office-based and works closely with surveyors and project teams to ensure all drawings are completed accurately and in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Review survey notes, sketches, and field data from survey teams.
Prepare and update technical drawings and plans using CAD software.
Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and compliant with project specifications.
Collaborate with surveyors and project personnel to clarify design details and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain organized project documentation and drawing files.

Qualifications:

Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar drafting programs.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to interpret survey notes and technical information.
Good communication and organizational skills.

Pay: $26.36 - $35.00 per hour
