Full Job Description

MediaStorm is currently seeking an experienced Back-End Developer responsible for building and maintaining the MediaStorm Platform, as well as handling various aspects of DevOps for all of MediaStorm's web properties.

The ideal candidate will have proven expertise creating scalable web applications using modern frameworks and technologies. They will take primary responsibility for architecting and implementing features on MediaStorm's unique rich-media publishing platform.

Description

The Back-End Developer will:

Develop innovative tools to aid the production and distribution of video and interactive storytelling.
Have a significant voice in the direction of MediaStorm’s products.
Work collaboratively with other team members to establish project goals and timelines.
Be responsible for unit and integration testing of products.
Assist with DevOps and management of cloud infrastructure.
Generate and maintain detailed documentation.
Remain up to date with new development trends and technologies, and contribute to company-wide technology decisions.

Qualifications

The successful applicant should have:

At least five years of professional development experience.
Proficiency with server-side languages such as Python, Ruby, or Node.js.
Experience with Django, Ruby on Rails, or similar web application frameworks.
Willingness to learn new languages or technologies as necessary.
Experience managing infrastructure in cloud computing environments such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure.
Solid understanding of web application security.
Experience integrating third-party APIs.
Experience with Continuous Integration strategies and tools.
Ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
Ability to self-manage and meet aggressive deadlines.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work remotely and to travel as necessary.
Strong communication skills.

Location

Ideally this position will be located Los Gatos, CA but we are open to a remote position.
