Overview
FloLabs R&D is seeking a Sports Science & HealthTech Intern to support projects focused on human performance, movement science, wearable technology, AI-assisted health insights, and next-generation sports and mobility innovation.
This internship is designed for students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals interested in the intersection of sports science, health technology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, wearable sensors, data analysis, rehabilitation, recovery, and human performance.
As a Sports Science & HealthTech Intern, you may help evaluate biomechanical and physiological data, support research related to AI-enhanced wearable systems, and contribute to projects that improve athletic performance, mobility, recovery, and wellness for different populations, including athletes, fitness users, rehabilitation users, and older adults.
You will collaborate with researchers, engineers, product teams, and design teams to help shape tools that support movement optimization, performance monitoring, injury prevention, recovery tracking, and data-driven health insights.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy applied research, data-driven analysis, health technology, wearable innovation, and real-world human performance applications.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, organize, and analyze biomechanics, physiological, movement, and performance-related data using smart sensors, wearables, and AI-supported platforms.
Support testing and refinement of wearable systems, including injury-prevention tools, rehabilitation devices, training enhancers, and health monitoring concepts.
Conduct research reviews and summarize developments in sports science, HealthTech, movement science, biomechanics, wearable technology, and AI-assisted performance analysis.
Help develop personalized training, wellness, mobility, recovery, or performance recommendations using sensor insights and performance indicators.
Assist with research related to fatigue, recovery, stress, sleep, movement quality, mobility, injury risk, rehabilitation, and athletic performance.
Collaborate with engineering, AI, product, and design teams to ensure solutions are grounded in human-centered research and practical health or sports performance needs.
Prepare documentation, including research summaries, experiment notes, testing logs, performance reports, and internal project updates.
Explore AI-driven analysis tools and identify opportunities to improve monitoring, modeling, interpretation, and visualization of sports and health data.
Support product development work by helping translate sports science and HealthTech research into clear requirements, user needs, testing plans, and product insights.
Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, project discussions, and internal updates.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Background or coursework in Sports Science, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Health Science, Biomedical Engineering, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation Science, or a related field is preferred.
Interest in HealthTech, wearable technology, human performance, movement optimization, rehabilitation, sports performance, recovery, or AI-supported health systems.
Familiarity with data tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, Excel, Google Sheets, or other analysis platforms is a plus.
Experience with sensor data, wearable devices, performance testing, research methods, or health-related data analysis is a plus.
Exposure to machine learning, AI-based performance analysis, or digital health platforms is a plus.
Basic understanding of physiological data, movement data, heart rate, HRV, sleep metrics, activity data, mobility metrics, or performance tracking is preferred.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to organize research findings clearly.
Comfortable collaborating across research, engineering, product, design, and AI teams.
Self-motivated, curious, reliable, and excited to contribute to meaningful sports science and HealthTech projects.

We actively collaborate with universities to offer college credit for this internship. Once you express interest and are selected, we will work with your institution to support the process of obtaining credit for your participation, pending university approval.
After successful completion, there may be an opportunity to be considered for a paid apprenticeship.
