Bookkeeper

Location: Santa Rosa, CA (On-site) Pay: $22–$28/hour DOE Schedule: Monday–Friday, Full-time

About Us

Platinum Finishing Systems is a manufacturer of industrial paint booths, finishing equipment, prep stations, and custom finishing solutions serving automotive, industrial, aerospace, and manufacturing customers throughout North America. We design, fabricate, and install custom finishing systems from our Santa Rosa, CA headquarters. We are growing rapidly and need someone to keep our books clean and accurate so our leadership team can focus on scaling the business.

Position Overview

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to handle day-to-day accounting in QuickBooks. This person will report directly to our CFO and be responsible for keeping the financial records accurate, current, and organized. This is a hands-on role focused on data entry, reconciliations, and keeping the books clean — not financial strategy or forecasting. The right person takes pride in accuracy and follows through without being chased.

Responsibilities

Manage daily bookkeeping in QuickBooks (data entry, categorization, transaction recording)
Process accounts payable — enter vendor invoices, schedule payments, maintain vendor records
Process accounts receivable — generate invoices, track payments, follow up on outstanding balances
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts weekly
Assist with payroll processing and related reporting
Track project expenses and match vendor invoices to jobs
Support month-end close by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
Maintain accurate, organized financial records and filing systems (digital and physical)
Coordinate with external CPA and tax professionals as directed by CFO
May assist with ordering parts and materials as needed to support production

Reports To

CFO (Kiera). This is a direct report to finance leadership. The bookkeeper is part of the finance function, not operations.

Qualifications

2+ years of bookkeeping experience
Strong QuickBooks experience required (QuickBooks Online or Desktop)
Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational skills — can manage multiple tasks without dropping the ball
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the daily accounting function
Manufacturing, construction, or project-based accounting experience is a plus but not required
Degree preferred but not required — equivalent experience will be considered

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive hourly pay: $22–$28/hour depending on experience
Full-time position, Monday–Friday
