Summary:

The CV/Cardiovascular Database Coordinator performs comprehensive data abstraction, validation, analysis, and management of cardiovascular clinical data for ACC and STS, registries, and others as required. The role ensures accuracy, integrity, and clinical relevance of cardiovascular data to support regulatory compliance, performance improvement, physician feedback and strategic cardiovascular service line initiatives.

The Database Coordinator acquires and maintains mastery of cardiovascular database and registry programs and ensures timely, complete, and accurate data submission in accordance with registry specifications and submission deadlines. The role maintains registry inclusion and exclusion criteria and ensures accurate case identification and selection.

The Database Coordinator serves as a resource to physicians and clinical stakeholders by responding to inquiries related to data definitions, abstraction methodology, and reported outcomes. The role identifies documentation opportunities that impact quality metrics, risk adjustment, and outcomes reporting and collaborates with clinical and quality teams to support continuous performance improvement.

The Database Coordinator assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality improvement initiatives, tracks performance trends, identifies opportunities for improvement, and supports associated action plans. In addition, the role provides data preparation and analytical support for Morbidity and Mortality (M&M) meetings, Quality meetings, and Cardiovascular Service Line initiatives.

The Database Coordinator promotes professional and courteous working relationships with key stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to organizational and regulatory standards.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited Nursing program, Respiratory program, or Cardiovascular program. Minimum five years specialized cardiac experience. Must have in depth knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, procedures and terminology. Experience in standard office software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to create, analyze, and present reports. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

Licenses and Certifications:
Valid and active RN, RT (R), RCIS, or RRT licensure in appropriate state
