Senior ABAP Developer – 12+ Month W2 Contract

Location: Portland, OR (Travel Required – Twice per Month)
Contract: 12+ Months (W2 Only)
Rate: $70 – $75/hour (W2)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior ABAP Developer for a 12+ month W2 contract. This role requires 12+ years of ABAP development experience with strong hands-on expertise in AIF, CDS Views, AMDP, OData, and IDOCs. The position is primarily remote but requires travel to Portland, OR twice per month.

We are only considering candidates local to Oregon or nearby states who can travel onsite as needed and have an active LinkedIn account.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain ABAP applications across SAP ECC and S/4HANA landscapes.
Build and optimize AIF (Application Interface Framework) solutions for robust data integration.
Develop CDS Views and AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures) for advanced data modeling.
Create and manage OData services for Fiori/UI5 applications.
Enhance and troubleshoot IDoc interfaces, ensuring smooth system communication.
Work with functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical specifications, and deliver scalable solutions.
Perform unit testing, support SIT/UAT, and resolve defects in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with development standards, performance tuning, and SAP best practices.
Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and deliver root cause analysis.
Collaborate with global teams and support integration across multiple SAP modules.

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
12+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
Strong expertise in AIF, CDS Views, AMDP, OData, and IDOCs.
Proven track record in full lifecycle SAP implementations, upgrades, and support projects.
Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to work on a W2 basis only (no C2C or 1099).
Must be local to Oregon or nearby states (due to required travel to Portland twice per month).
- ️ Must have an active LinkedIn account.

Preferred:

Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration and greenfield/brownfield implementations.
Familiarity with SAP Fiori/UI5 development.
Experience in regulated industries (manufacturing, healthcare, finance, etc.).
Knowledge of Agile/Waterfall project methodologies.

Contract Details

Duration: 12+ Months (extensions possible) – W2 Contract
Location: Portland, OR (Remote with travel twice per month)
Compensation: $70 – $75/hour (W2)
Schedule: Standard business hours, Monday–Friday
