Position Summary
The Account Manager, Life Sciences is responsible for managing multiple major client accounts, simultaneous projects, and an account team of event planners. The account manager is responsible for overall operational success and financial management of these accounts and all related meetings & events.
The Account Manager, Life Sciences must develop long-term relationships within the clients, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders in all departments. The Account Manager, Life Sciences will be responsible to develop and implement all account specific processes ensuring each process seamlessly integrates with internal corporate standard operating procedures and various departments. The Account Manager, Life Sciences is responsible to grow the account in both new relationships and events, but also service offerings. They are an integral part of the extended leadership & development team.
Key Accountabilities:
Client Growth
- Develop strong, loyal, long term client relationships.
- Active participation in growth of business within the account.
- Forecast, manage, and achieve account revenue, gross profit, and other key metric financial goals.
Client Satisfaction
- Ensure a clear understanding of all account nuances to maintain and execute the business.
- Manage the account and required directives from both a tactical and strategic viewpoint.
- Achieve client satisfaction levels for all KPI’s/SLA’s.
Account Team Management
- Build and support a successful team of life science project managers.
- Create efficient & effective account processes that support the client and internal SOP requirements.
- Become a SME and ensure continued growth by proactively following emerging trends and strategies, participate in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organization conferences.
- Oversee the corporate culture and values within your team, making sure that we are living our values and building a culture of Creating Human Connections.
Responsibilities:
Account Team
- Manage, oversee, and assign projects for all direct reports, ensure availability & development of team to meet current & future needs.
- Ensure timely and successful delivery of services with complete quality control.
- Coordinate account team staff meetings and team training.
- Oversight of project financial management.
Client(s)
- Primary account contact.
- Management of MSA, SOW and pricing with COO and DOO, and Senior Account Manager Life Sciences Meeting Planning/Account Management.
- Coordinate sales efforts with Client Development Director.
- Coordinate new business proposals with Proposal Development Manager.
- Conduct Quarterly and/or Monthly Account Business Reviews, as required identifying key metrics.
- Ensure contracted Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements are met.
Processes & Procedures
- Pro-Actively work to identify GAP issues to improve processes and create efficiencies.
- Establish and document client specific processes and templates in internal Client-Specific Playbook.
- Collaborate with all internal departments.
- Supplier contract management within client’s SOPs and internal policies.
- Task force initiatives & special projects.
- Healthcare Professional Compliance management.
Education and Experience:
- 4 Year Bachelor’s degree.
- 10+ Years Meeting and Event Logistics Planning and Management.
- 5+ Years Life Science Meeting and Event Logistics Planning & Healthcare Compliance
- 5+ Years Agency Experience preferred
- Experience in both internal and external Life Science Meeting Types
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certification in Meeting Manager (CMM) Preferred.
- Strategic Meeting Management (SMM), Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certificate (HMCC) or CMP-HC a plus.
- Cvent Knowledge
- Experience working with medical associations or societies, a plus.

Compensation:
The pay for this position is commensurate with experience, skills, education, certifications, and training. The salary range (annually) for this position is $92,000 to $115,000 plus commission.
