J&B Precision, Inc. has been a manufacturer of orthopedic supplies and devices in Cordova, TN since 1999. We work with our loyal client base to satisfy an increasing demand for products.

We are hiring an experienced CNC Mill Programmer to help us keep growing in our mill area. We currently operate 4 mills (3 Fadals and 1 Haas DM2).

Job Summary

Join our innovative manufacturing team as a CNC Mill Programmer, where you will play a pivotal role in designing, programming, and optimizing CNC milling operations to produce high-precision components. Your expertise will ensure efficient machining processes, adherence to strict quality standards, and seamless integration of advanced manufacturing techniques. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects and advance your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Develop and write detailed CNC programs for milling machines, including 5-axis CNC machines, utilizing CAM software and CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Partmaker and Mastercam.
Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.
Set up machining tools and fixtures on CNC milling machines, ensuring precise tool positioning and alignment using measurement instruments like bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Optimize machining parameters by applying lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.
Program CNC machines with a focus on precision measurement in machining to meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs to verify conformance to specifications.
Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, geometry, or machine setup; perform necessary adjustments or reprogramming to maintain quality output.

Skills

Proficiency in CNC programming for milling machines with experience in Fanuc controls.
Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
Deep understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
Experience operating 5-axis CNC machines with the ability to set up tooling and fixtures efficiently.
Familiarity with GD&T standards for precise measurement and quality control in manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques is a plus.
Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately.
Skilled in measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
Strong math skills relevant to machining calculations including geometry concepts.
Ability to implement lean manufacturing principles for continuous process improvements.
