Full Job Description

Clinical Supervisor

The Addictions Counselor Supervisor is responsible for the daily administration and supervision of the Opiate treatment Program, including the staffing, business and fiscal management. The Clinical Supervisor will assist in the long-and-short term planning, program evaluation and compliance with federal, state, local and independent regulatory statues. The Clinical Supervisor manages full-time and part-time addiction counselors including trainees.

Responsibilities and Tasks

· Adheres to Company Standards of conduct and complies with all policies.

· Maintains cooperative and positive attitude and approach to patient, staff and visitors.

· Responsible for all staffing from performance evaluations to recruiting and employee surveys.

· Ensures program target goals are met including patient outcomes, financial targets and regulatory compliance.

· Ensures quality of documentation and quality of clinical care provided by the front line clinicians.

· Provides clinical supervision to clinic department heads and other direct reports.

· Prepares reports to manage all data on patient care, staff performance and outcomes and responds accordingly to data gathered.

· Participates in group and individual supervision and treatment plan reviews and updates.

· Responsible for overall client satisfaction and treatment plan reviews and updates.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Human Services Administration with a focus on substance abuse counseling.

· Approved Supervisor letter from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.

· Must maintain Maryland State criteria for supervising counselors, trainees and interns.

· Minimum 2 years of experience in supervisory/management in human services.

· Familiar with State Regulations (COMAR), DEA regulations, CARF and JACHO standards.

· Must be certified or licensed with the State of Maryland and IC&RC certification boards.

· Must have minimum of 4 years working with substance abuse population.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Exhibits excellent written and oral communication skills required.

· Excellent documentation and computer skills required.

· Knowledge of local community drug trends, the effects of the body and the cognitive functioning of drugs of abuse, signs and symptoms of narcotic overdose, psychosocial implications of addictive disease, the process of addiction and treatment, social science, economic, legal and medical systems, HIV transmission, behavioral and emotional implications of addictions.

· Compliance with the ethical and professional standards and practices of counselors and therapists.

· Initiative to lead and be proactive in critical situations, keen problem solving and decision making skills.
