Philadelphia Integrative Psychiatry is expanding our services to better support individuals in our care and the broader community. We are building a dedicated team of Psychologists to provide high‑quality testing and assessment services as part of our integrative model. This position is offered as a part‑time role to start, with a clear pathway to full‑time as the service line grows. Our long‑term vision is a collaborative, specialized assessment team that enhances access, clarity, and continuity of care for clients across the lifespan.
Important Application Note: A brief 2-to-3-minute video introduction is required to be considered for this role. Please see the "How to Apply" section at the bottom of this posting for instructions.
About Us
Philadelphia Integrative Psychiatry (PIP) is a physician-founded, physician-led mental health organization in Devon, Pennsylvania. We specialize in complex, treatment-resistant psychiatric conditions, child and adolescent mental health, and advanced biological and psychotherapeutic interventions. Our Devon clinic serves as a regional center of excellence, integrating traditional psychopharmacology with innovative, evidence-based treatments to provide the highest standard of care.
The Role
The Licensed Psychologist — Psychological Evaluation Specialist is a 1099 independent contractor of Philadelphia Integrative Psychiatry, responsible for conducting, interpreting, and communicating comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. The psychologist constructs an individualized assessment battery for each patient based on the referral question, selects and administers appropriate standardized instruments across cognitive, achievement, neuropsychological, behavioral, emotional, and adaptive behavior domains, produces thorough evaluation reports with clear and actionable clinical recommendations, and delivers findings through structured feedback sessions.
This role is embedded within our interdisciplinary clinical team. The psychologist is expected to function as an active participant in the practice's integrated care model — not as a siloed service — contributing meaningfully to shared treatment planning, supporting warm handoffs between evaluation findings and clinical services, and building the community relationships that sustain a thriving evaluation program.
Core Responsibilities
Evaluation Planning & Clinical Intake
- Conduct thorough clinical intake interviews with patients and, where applicable, parents, guardians, or caregivers to gather developmental, educational, medical, psychiatric, and psychosocial history
- Review all available records prior to testing — prior evaluations, school records, IEP documents, medical history, and referring provider notes
- Formulate an individualized assessment plan based on the referral question, the patient's age and developmental level, and clinical presentation
- Select an appropriate, evidence-based battery of standardized instruments for each evaluation — drawing across cognitive, academic achievement, neuropsychological, behavioral, emotional, and adaptive behavior domains as clinically indicated
Scoring, Interpretation & Report Writing
- Score, norm-reference, and clinically interpret all administered instruments with appropriate attention to validity indicators, effort measures, and testing behavior observations
- Integrate multi-source data — standardized test results, clinical observation, interview findings, collateral behavioral ratings, and records — into a coherent, evidence-based clinical formulation
- Produce comprehensive evaluation reports that are clinically precise, well-organized, and accessible to both clinician and non-clinician audiences, including clear diagnostic conclusions (where supported) and specific, actionable recommendations
- Complete reports within the practice's established turnaround standard — target 10–15 business days from the final testing session
- Ensure all reports meet the documentation standards required for IEP teams, insurance superbill submission, referring provider records, and external agency use
Feedback, Communication & Interdisciplinary Care
- Conduct structured feedback sessions with patients and/or families to deliver and explain evaluation findings in accessible, non-stigmatizing language that empowers action
- Provide written accommodation letters, diagnostic summary letters, and letters of support derived from evaluation findings for school, workplace, higher education, or agency purposes
- Actively participate in Philadelphia Integrative Psychiatry's interdisciplinary care model — collaborating directly with the practice's psychiatrists, advanced practice providers, and therapists on shared treatment planning
- Drive bi-directional internal referrals: translate evaluation findings into specific treatment recommendations that connect patients immediately to appropriate services within the practice — therapy, psychiatric management, medication evaluation, or specialized modalities — without requiring families to navigate those transitions on their own
- Support warm handoffs between evaluation and ongoing clinical care, ensuring that the momentum of an evaluation does not stall at the report and instead becomes the foundation for coordinated treatment
- Participate in multidisciplinary case consultations, clinical team meetings, and joint treatment planning discussions within the practice
Community Outreach & Referral Relationship Development
- Engage in proactive, ongoing outreach to local schools, school psychologists, special education directors, and child study teams to build and sustain working relationships that support a strong, consistent referral pipeline
- Serve as a knowledgeable, trusted clinical resource for school-based partners — providing consultation, psychoeducation, and guidance on the evaluation process, IEE rights, and best practices for supporting neurodiverse students
- Maintain active working relationships with community referral sources including pediatricians, family physicians, therapists, educational advocates, and parent support organizations across the greater Philadelphia and Main Line area
- Represent Philadelphia Integrative Psychiatry at community events, school information nights, professional networking opportunities, and continuing education forums as appropriate
- Collaborate with practice leadership on marketing and outreach strategies that communicate the value of the evaluation program to community partners and prospective patients
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation within the practice's PracticeQ EMR system
- Complete required intake documentation, session notes, and outcome tracking per practice standards
- Manage test kit integrity — monitor protocol inventory and notify practice administration when restocking is needed
- Adhere to APA Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, Pennsylvania Board of Psychology statutes, and HIPAA requirements in all clinical activities
- Maintain required Pennsylvania licensure, continuing education credits, and any instrument-specific certifications (including ADOS-2)
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PsyD or PhD) from an APA-accredited program
- Current, unrestricted Pennsylvania License as a Licensed Psychologist (LP)
- Demonstrated training and supervised experience in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of a comprehensive psychological evaluation battery spanning cognitive, academic achievement, neuropsychological, behavioral, emotional, and adaptive behavior domains
- Proficiency with the Wechsler intelligence scales (WISC-V, WAIS-IV) as primary cognitive instruments
- Experience administering and interpreting the ADOS-2 — training certification required; ADOS-2 Module certification strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to construct an individualized, referral-question-driven assessment battery rather than applying a fixed protocol uniformly across all patients
- Strong written communication skills — ability to produce comprehensive, well-integrated reports that are clinically precise and readable by non-clinician audiences including educators, families, and referring providers
- Proficiency with DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria and their evidence-based application to evaluation findings
- Working knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and the procedural requirements governing Independent Educational Evaluations
- Demonstrated ability — or genuine enthusiasm — for community engagement, school partnership, and relationship-based referral development
- Commitment to accurate, valid, and ethical test administration in full accordance with APA ethical standards and Pennsylvania licensing requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with twice-exceptional (2e) populations and gifted assessment using extended norms
- Experience writing IEE reports and attending IEP team meetings in an independent evaluator role
- Familiarity with neurodiversity-affirming assessment frameworks and strength-based reporting
- Established relationships with Main Line area or greater Philadelphia schools, pediatric practices, or educational advocacy organizations
- Experience practicing within an interdisciplinary or integrated behavioral health setting
- Familiarity with PracticeQ or a comparable cloud-based EHR and practice management platform
