The main function of a Commissioning Platform Engineer is to support the deployment, configuration, and ongoing operation of distributed test and commissioning applications across data center project sites. This role involves troubleshooting test instruments and network infrastructure, coordinating with remote engineering teams, and ensuring equipment readiness for commissioning milestones. The engineer will balance reactive support requests with planned site work while maintaining clear communication and accurate tracking of all issues and deliverables.
- Support deployment and configuration of a distributed commissioning test application across data center project sites
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with test instruments including Power Quality Meters, load bank controllers, and environmental sensors
- Set up, configure, and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks supporting commissioning operations
- Balance responding to escalated support requests with planned site-related work
- Provide remote engineering teams with timely status communications and risk escalation notifications
- Validate equipment readiness prior to commissioning milestones and coordinate equipment redeployment between projects
- Plan and maintain a forward-looking schedule of site-related work using tools and processes
- Ensure all issues and incidents are properly recorded and tracked in team tooling
- Conduct site team training related to commissioning network and test equipment safety
- Travel to US East Coast data center sites (15–25%) to support onsite commissioning platform setup and site readiness activities
What is the ideal background of a candidate for this role:
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in network engineering or IT support within construction or industrial environments. They should have a background setting up and troubleshooting wired and wireless networks on active job sites, along with experience supporting electrical commissioning systems, building management systems, or similar infrastructure. Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and working around trades is important. A candidate who has worked in a field engineering, site technician, or systems support role—where they had to diagnose equipment issues under time pressure while coordinating with remote teams—would be a strong fit.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual Salary for this position is between [$80,000 – $95,000 annually]. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
