Job Title: Java Programmer III (Multiple Openings)
Job Duties: Utilize advanced theoretical knowledge of subject matter principles and concepts, as well as experience with Java programming tools and technologies, to assist Project Manager in monitoring activities of project team members who create, modify, and test the code, forms, and scripts that allow computer applications to run. Responsibilities include the following:
1. Monitor the correcting of application errors by coordinating the appropriate changes and ensuring that the desired results are produced;
2. Assist the Project Manager in analyzing, developing, and implementing complex functionality according to business requirements;
3. Work with systems architects, and data/database specialists to coordinate and monitor the enhancement of application development and database design;
4. Coordinate and monitor deployment and implementation;
5. Coordinate the compilation and writing of program development documentation and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instructions so others can understand the program;
6. Monitor the performance of systems analysis and programming tasks to maintain and control the use of computer systems;
7. Coordinate and monitor the preparation of detailed workflow charts and diagrams that describe input, output, and logical operation, and convert them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language;
8. Ensure integrity of written instructions or manuals to guide end users;
9. Analyze, review, and monitor the rewrite of programs, using workflow chart and diagram, and applying knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic;
10. Coordinate and monitor the writing, updating, and maintenance of computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs.
Minimum requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a related position. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-degree experience in the job offered or in a related position. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
No travel or telecommuting. Position is project-based at various unanticipated work sites within the U.S. and relocation may be required at the end of each long-term project.
