Full Job Description

Senior Oracle SQL Data Analyst (Onsite)

Location: Atlanta, GA
Work Arrangement: Onsite (Only qualified candidates located near the Atlanta, GA area will be considered.)

Position Summary

The Senior Oracle SQL Data Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting SQL solutions for operational reporting, research, executive decision-making, legislative reporting, and strategic initiatives. This role works extensively with large, normalized Oracle transactional databases, where approximately 70–80% of the work involves writing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.

This is not a traditional Business Intelligence or dashboard development role. The ideal candidate will be able to independently analyze business requirements, identify the appropriate database tables and relationships, and develop SQL solutions from scratch without relying on pre-built analytical models or AI-generated SQL.

Note: Candidates must report onsite on Day 1 for orientation and equipment pickup. Equipment will not be shipped.

Key ResponsibilitiesOracle SQL Development

Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programs
Write simple and complex SQL queries from scratch against normalized Oracle transactional databases
Create efficient, reusable, and well-documented SQL code
Optimize SQL queries for performance and maintainability

Data Analysis & Reporting

Analyze business requirements and translate them into SQL solutions
Extract, validate, transform, and analyze operational data
Support:
Operational reporting
Executive reporting
Legislative reporting
Research initiatives
Grant reporting
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Database Automation

Develop and maintain automated SQL processes
Create and manage scheduled database jobs
Maintain recurring data refresh processes
Troubleshoot automated jobs and SQL processes

Database Design & Data Validation

Analyze normalized relational database structures
Determine appropriate:
Tables
Relationships
Joins
Business rules
Validate data accuracy and troubleshoot data quality issues

Collaboration

Work closely with business users to understand reporting requirements
Present analytical findings to stakeholders
Support Tableau dashboards and other data visualization initiatives as needed
