Overview:

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) ConsultantPosition Overview

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our team as a Behavioral Consultant serving adults with developmental disabilities residing in Adult Residential Facilities throughout the South Bay area. This flexible, part-time consulting position offers a minimum commitment of 24 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours based on caseload needs.

The BCBA will provide behavioral assessment, consultation, training, and oversight services to support individuals with complex behavioral, developmental, and mental health needs. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with residential staff, family members, regional center representatives, and interdisciplinary team members to improve quality of life, increase independence, and reduce challenging behaviors through evidence-based practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other behavioral evaluations to identify the factors contributing to challenging behaviors.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) that promote positive behavior change and skill development.
Implement and oversee the collection of behavioral data. Review and analyze behavioral data to evaluate treatment effectiveness and guide intervention adjustments.
Complete written initial assessments, quarterly plan reviews, annual assessments, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
Provide ongoing consultation, coaching, and support to residential staff regarding behavior management, skill acquisition, and proactive intervention strategies.
Conduct staff training on behavior support techniques, crisis prevention, documentation requirements, and implementation fidelity.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, Individual Program Plan (IPP) meetings, annual reviews, and other resident-centered planning activities.
Assist with incident review and provide recommendations to reduce future behavioral risks and improve support strategies.
Ensure all services are provided in accordance with BACB ethics requirements, California regulations, regional center standards, and best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Maintain professional documentation and communication with residential providers, regional centers, conservators, family members, and other stakeholders as appropriate.

Qualifications

Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral challenges, and/or co-occurring mental health conditions.
Demonstrated experience conducting FBAs and developing Behavior Intervention Plans.
Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and person-centered support practices.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
Knowledge of California residential service systems and regional center services preferred.
Experience working in Adult Residential Facilities (ARFs), Enhanced Behavioral Supports Homes (EBSH), Community Crisis Homes (CCH), or similar settings is highly desirable.

Schedule

Part-Time Consultant Position
Flexible schedule based on assigned caseload
Combination of on-site visits, team meetings, staff training, and remote report writing
Approximately 24+ hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours

Compensation

Competitive hourly compensation based on experience, qualifications, and availability.
