Junior Game Developer (Cocos2d-x) – AI Trainer

Job Summary

We are looking for Junior Game Developers with experience in Cocos2d-x to support AI training and evaluation through real-world game development tasks. In this role, you will help improve next-generation AI systems by applying your knowledge of 2D game development, gameplay programming, debugging, and technical problem-solving.

This is an hourly-paid contract opportunity, not a traditional game development position. Contributors will complete project-based AI training and evaluation tasks that help AI models better understand game programming, development workflows, gameplay mechanics, and software engineering best practices.

No prior AI experience is required. What matters most is hands-on experience with Cocos2d-x, strong technical communication, and the ability to build, debug, and improve interactive game systems.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to AI training, benchmarking, and evaluation projects involving real-world game development scenarios.
Develop and refine game logic, mechanics, and features using Cocos2d-x for prototype and production-level projects.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality real-world input for AI training initiatives.
Create, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize game assets, scenes, and gameplay systems.
Test, debug, and improve Cocos2d-x code to ensure reliable, efficient, and maintainable gameplay experiences.
Document code, development processes, and technical decisions clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Communicate project progress, technical challenges, and proposed solutions effectively in a remote environment.
Iterate on implementations based on feedback while continuously improving code quality and project deliverables.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Cocos2d-x and solid understanding of 2D game development workflows.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in game development environments.
Experience collaborating with distributed or remote development teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly document technical work.
Ability to follow technical specifications and adapt to evolving project requirements.
Understanding of game design principles, gameplay mechanics, and player experience optimization.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience contributing to AI training, simulation, or data generation projects.
Familiarity with additional game engines or programming languages.
Experience collaborating with AI, machine learning, or data science teams.
Knowledge of software engineering best practices, version control, and code review workflows.
Interest in applying game development expertise to emerging AI technologies.
