Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced accountant and operations professional to oversee financial management and operational functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in accounting standards, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on ensuring accurate financial data and effective operational processes.

This role requires a strategic thinker with comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, SOX, IFRS, and various accounting software platforms. The hire will play a vital role in maintaining financial integrity, managing cash flow, and supporting organizational growth through sound financial analysis and reporting.

Pathway to Controller.

Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.
Manage end-to-end monthly close.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements pertinent to nonprofit, governmental, or corporate accounting environments.
Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Manage cash management activities and oversee payroll processing using software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
Conduct financial analysis and account analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
Maintain accurate double-entry bookkeeping records and perform balance sheet reconciliations regularly.
Lead regulatory reporting efforts and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure adherence to all compliance standards.
Support operational functions by providing insights into financial concepts that influence business decisions.
Utilize various financial management software to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.

Experience

Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a focus on financial management and regulatory compliance.
Extensive knowledge of GAAP, SOX controls, IFRS standards, and governmental or nonprofit accounting practices preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in financial report writing, account reconciliation (including general ledger reconciliation), and financial analysis.
Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of cash management strategies, payroll processing, budgeting techniques, and financial concepts including debits & credits and double-entry bookkeeping.
Ability to interpret complex financial data to inform strategic decision-making.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in account reconciliation and balance sheet management.
