Full Job Description

Join our global remote team as a part-time Financial Controller and help shape the financial backbone of a growing company. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll be the driving force behind accurate, compliant, and scalable financial operations — while delivering the insights that fuel smart decisions and sustainable growth. You'll build out key financial metrics and executive reporting, streamline our financial systems and processes, and keep our global tax, payroll, and invoicing running efficiently and compliantly. Our ideal candidate will be able to work remotely 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, between 7:00am-5:00pm PST (Pacific Standard Time).

Responsibilities:

Lead the company's accounting function, ensuring compliance with GAAP, maintaining strong accounting policies and internal controls, and overseeing the preparation of accurate monthly and annual financial statements.
Oversee global payroll and financial administration, including reviewing payroll and commission payments, supporting special payroll events, and monitoring cash flow and payables.
Lead global tax and indirect tax compliance by supporting tax advisors, monitoring sales, use, and value-added tax (VAT) requirements, implementing compliant tax processes, and maintaining current knowledge of evolving tax regulations.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve financial policies, controls, reporting, and operational processes that strengthen decision-making, safeguard company assets, and support the company's continued global growth.
Manage one direct report: An accounting manager based in the Philippines

Experience:

Comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance, including leadership responsibility for accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance.
Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial statement preparation, internal controls, external audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Demonstrated experience managing global tax compliance, payroll oversight, and sales/use/value-added tax (VAT) requirements across multiple jurisdictions
Experience in a B2B SaaS, with a solid understanding of SaaS metrics such as ARR, churn, revenue growth, and deferred revenue is highly desirable.
Ability to support executive leadership with financial planning, KPI reporting, cash flow analysis, board or investor reporting, and fundraising activities
Demonstrated success implementing and improving financial systems, accounting processes, and internal controls within a growing or startup environment.
Comfortable working independently in a remote, global organization across time zones, collaborating cross-functionally and partnering with executives to drive financial strategy and operational excellence.

Benefits & Compensation:

This is a fully remote position with a flexible work schedule. Compensation includes:

15 days of paid time off (PTO) annually, prorated based on hours worked
6 paid company holidays
Health insurance and retirement benefits are not currently offered
