HealthPoint is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead our Accounting and Payroll functions while helping shape the financial strategy of a growing, mission-driven healthcare organization. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you'll oversee complex accounting operations, ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, and develop a high-performing team committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

We're seeking a seasoned accounting leader who brings both technical expertise and proven leadership experience.
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
- At least 5 years of experience leading an accounting department.
- At least 5 years of direct people management experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and developing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- CPA preferred.
- Healthcare accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience is a plus.
- Experience with MIP accounting software is desirable.
- Oversee accounting operations including monthly financial reporting, cash and investment accounting, accounts payable, payroll, and grant accounting.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records through strong internal controls and GAAP compliance.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Oversee governmental grant reporting, tax filings, and required financial reporting.
- Partner with the VP of Finance, Director of Financial Planning, and executive leadership on financial strategy.
- Prepare financial reports, audit schedules, and supporting documentation for annual audits, including 401(k) and 403(b) audits.
- Provide operational insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Maintain current knowledge of GAAP, HRSA, and other applicable regulations.
- Inspire, coach, and develop accounting leaders and staff.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Lead hiring, performance management, employee development, recognition, and succession planning.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality accounting services.
- Lead process improvement initiatives using HealthPoint's Lean Management System.
- Leverage technology to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Adapt quickly to organizational change while helping teams remain agile and effective.
- Expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong understanding of internal controls and financial compliance.
- Experience leading accounting operations in a complex, high-volume organization.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present financial information to executive leadership.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Experience using enterprise accounting systems (MIP preferred).

Immunization Requirements
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to starting at HealthPoint. HealthPoint does not accept the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine as proof of vaccination. Individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine must provide documentation of an alternate COVID-19 vaccine or vaccine series.
As a condition of employment, all new hires must provide proof of required immunizations and/or immunity for:

Employees working in a HealthPoint clinic must also provide proof of:
- Tdap vaccination (within the last 10 years)
- Hepatitis B vaccination (for clinical positions with potential exposure to blood or bloodborne pathogens)
Documentation must be provided before your start date or no later than your fifth (5th) business day of employment. If you are unable to provide documentation, HealthPoint can provide required vaccinations or immunity titers at no cost.
