Specific Job Knowledge and Skills:

The core Duties & Responsibilities of a Line Cook:

To provide the highest quality of food preparation for breakfast and lunch.

Open kitchen in absence of Kitchen Supervisor/Cook or Executive Chef.
Follows and adheres to recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications.
Prepares food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
Prepares sauces, soups and other dishes for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner menus.
Ensure presentation and attractiveness of all food and dishes.
Assist with set-up of restaurant breakfast and lunch buffets.
Assist with setting up employee meals.
Cleans and maintains station food preparation area in a safe, sanitary and organized manner.
Monitor and assist Dishwashers and Pantry personnel.
Perform dinner set-up duties according to prep list schedule).
Supervise kitchen area, including adequate staffing levels while adhering to standard labor guidelines.
Assist in training of staff.
Sets up station according to guidelines.
Restock items as needed throughout shift.
Report out of stock items to Kitchen Supervisor/Cook or Executive Chef.
Reports equipment malfunctions to ensure food and operator safety.
Update breakage log (i.e., broken dishes, glasses, cups, etc.)
Ensures food temperatures are correct and logged.
Maintain sanitation standards.
Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station.
Assists with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.
Practice and observe all safety rules and procedures and encourage others to do the same.
Attend Department meetings as scheduled.
Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned.

The Desired Qualifications are:

· Must be or have the ability to be Food Safety certified.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or GED required.

· Hotel and Line Cook experience desired.

Language Skills:

· Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: Read & understand the English language.
