Full Job Description

Position Summary

Baron Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Access Navigator to support patients throughout their healthcare journey by providing exceptional non-clinical assistance. This fully remote position is responsible for coordinating appointments, assisting with patient registration, supporting referral and insurance processes, and serving as a trusted point of contact for patients seeking information and guidance.

The ideal candidate enjoys helping others, excels at organization, and is committed to delivering an outstanding patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Patient Support

Serve as the primary point of contact for patients via phone, email, chat, and secure messaging platforms.
Respond to non-clinical questions regarding appointments, services, provider availability, and office procedures.
Provide courteous, accurate, and timely assistance while ensuring a positive patient experience.
Escalate clinical concerns or urgent matters to the appropriate healthcare professionals.

Patient Access Coordination

Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.
Assist new patients with registration and onboarding requirements.
Verify demographic information and maintain accurate patient records.
Coordinate appointment reminders and follow-up communications.

Referral & Insurance Support

Assist with incoming referrals and ensure required documentation is complete.
Support insurance verification and authorization processes in accordance with established procedures.
Communicate with referring providers, insurance representatives, and internal departments as needed.
Monitor referral and authorization requests to help ensure timely processing.

Administrative Support

Maintain accurate electronic patient records and documentation.
Perform data entry with a high level of accuracy.
Prepare reports, correspondence, and administrative documents.
Protect confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA and company privacy policies.

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of experience in healthcare administration, medical office support, patient services, scheduling, customer service, call center operations, insurance support, or administrative support.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and web-based applications.

Preferred

Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience in a physician practice, outpatient clinic, hospital, or specialty medical office.
Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR), patient scheduling software, practice management systems, or CRM platforms.
Experience with insurance verification, referrals, or prior authorizations.
Previous remote work experience.
