Job description

The Data Integration Analyst is responsible for analyzing business requirements and translating them into data integration and analytics solutions. This role focuses on discovering enterprise data assets, documenting source-to-target mappings, supporting data engineering activities, and ensuring data quality throughout the analytics lifecycle.

This position bridges business operations and technical implementation by ensuring data is properly understood, integrated, transformed, and validated.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements

Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational processes and reporting needs.
Conduct discovery sessions and document business requirements.
Identify business metrics, KPIs, and reporting objectives.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Assist with backlog refinement and user story development.

Data Discovery & Analysis

Identify and analyze enterprise data sources across multiple business systems.
Assess source system capabilities, relationships, and data quality.
Perform data profiling and gap analysis.
Document metadata, business definitions, and data lineage.
Recommend authoritative sources for enterprise reporting.

Data Mapping & Integration

Develop logical and physical source-to-target mappings.
Define transformation rules and business logic.
Collaborate with Data Engineers to design ETL/ELT pipelines.
Support dimensional modeling and analytical data models.
Assist with data standardization and integration strategies.

Data Validation & Quality

Validate integrated datasets against business requirements.
Perform reconciliation between source and target systems.
Support system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
Identify and resolve data quality issues.
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

Collaboration

Work closely with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Product Owners, and business users.
Participate in Agile planning, sprint reviews, and backlog grooming.
Maintain documentation for data mappings, business rules, and technical specifications.
Support ongoing enhancements to enterprise analytics solutions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
5–8 years of experience in data analysis, data integration, business intelligence, or business systems analysis.
Strong SQL querying and database analysis skills.
Experience working with relational databases and enterprise applications.
Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
Experience with enterprise data integration or data warehouse initiatives.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with modern data and analytics technologies is highly desirable, including Databricks, Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, Azure DevOps, and enterprise data warehouse environments. Candidates with experience supporting ETL/ELT development, dimensional data modeling, data profiling, metadata management, master data management (MDM), data governance, and data lineage are strongly preferred. Experience working in Agile software development environments and supporting cloud-based analytics platforms is also beneficial.

Desired Skills

The ideal candidate possesses strong business process analysis and requirements gathering skills, with the ability to discover and evaluate enterprise data sources, document source-to-target mappings, and assess data quality. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in SQL and relational database analysis, along with the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications for data engineers and BI developers. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, technical documentation experience, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to collaborate effectively across both business and technical team

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
