Full Job Description

About ERHC

Since 2004, ERHC has served as a leader in first responder medicine, caring for those who safeguard our families and communities. Headquartered in Boise with an additional clinic located in Nampa, ERHC is the provider of choice for emergency agencies throughout southwestern Idaho and select locations across the states supporting 40+ fire, police, and EMS departments and caring for approximately 8,000 responders and their family members (newborn to age 65). ERHC's practice model spans "360 degrees of care" from preventative wellness, sports medicine, occupational medicine, primary and urgent care, physical therapy, and Workers' Compensation—to mental health therapy, allied health services, and workforce wellness consultation. Most recently, ERHC has expanded its unique practice model into the Northeastern Washington and Northern Idaho region.

Job Summary - Fire and Police Cardiac and Cancer Screening Initiative

ERHC is launching the Advanced Cardiac and Cancer Screening Initiative —a comprehensive ultrasound screening program for firefighters and police officers. The program will include an echocardiographic screening examination, with additional general (cancer) and vascular ultrasound studies—including thyroid, abdominal organs, scrotal and pelvic, and screening carotid examinations—performed as part of the initiative. In addition, ERHC will have the ability to perform full diagnostic ECHOs supported by our in-house cardiologist, based on appropriate clinical indications.

We are seeking an experienced Echocardiographer to join our General/Vascular ultrasound team and help support an expanding team of physicians (family & sports medicine), nurse practitioners, physical therapists, mental health counselors, and massage therapists.

ERHC has purchased a new high-resolution GE Fortis Ultrasound system and plans to begin the program in August 2026. We anticipate performing 10–20 ultrasound examinations per week, coordinated with participants' annual wellness examinations. Screening clinics will offer a flexible schedule, allowing the sonographer to maintain additional part-time or full-time employment at another imaging center.

Eligibility Requirements:

Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited echocardiography program OR equivalent clinical training, including active credentials in Echocardiography (RDCS/RCS)
At least 1 year (optimally 2-3 years) echocardiography ultrasound experience required
Basic proficiency with ultrasound equipment and PACS/EMR systems (ERHC uses Studycast as our PACS system and eClinicalWorks as our EMR)
Ability to perform screening & diagnostic echocardiographic studies independently
Ability to follow cardiac screening protocols established by ERHC’s cardiology provider
Serves as the clinical knowledge resource for echocardiography-related questions
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality, adhering to the Privacy Practices for Protected Health Information
Meet clinic standards for consistent punctuality and attendance
Motivated, fast learner, who can work independently after training and is dedicated to the mission of ERHC to serve first responder personnel

Work Location:

Single practice location (ERHC on Emerald Street in Boise)
Possible opportunity to travel with satellite clinic team to provide screening ultrasounds in Pocatello, Coeur d’Alene and Valdez, Alaska

Part-Time Schedule:

Weekends, either Saturday or Sunday; Possible weekdays
