MAIN PURPOSE:
The Communications Coordinator supports Eagle Mine’s site-level internal and external communications, employee engagement communications, digital platforms, brand materials, and day-to-day communications execution.
Working under the direction of the Communications and Brand Strategy Supervisor, this role provides hands-on support for employee communications, Beekeeper content, digital displays, newsletters, social media support, website updates, creative materials, photography, videography, internal campaigns, department communication requests, and communications-related administrative needs.
The Coordinator helps ensure Eagle Mine communications are organized, timely, accurate, engaging, and aligned with Talon’s brand, values, and business objectives.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

Communications and Internal Engagement Support
-
Support internal communications efforts for Eagle Mine operations, including employee updates, Beekeeper posts, bulletin boards, digital displays, newsletters, flyers, announcements, and other employee-facing materials.

Assist with employee engagement communications, recognition content, employee event communications, internal campaigns, and operational updates.
-
Help maintain an employee communications and content calendar in coordination with the Communications and Brand Strategy Supervisor.

Create and coordinate basic content, including photos, graphics, short written updates, event materials, internal announcements, and employee-facing visuals.

Support internal departments with communication needs, including flyers, forms, presentations, event materials, signage, and employee-facing messaging.

Assist with new hire communications, onboarding-related materials, and employee information resources as needed.

External Communications and Content Support

Support the development of external communications materials, including social media content, website updates, community-facing materials, presentations, brochures, advertisements, and other communications assets.

Assist with drafting, editing, formatting, and preparing communications materials for review and approval.

Support content gathering for stories, campaigns, events, employee features, community updates, and operational communications.

Assist with photography, videography, and content capture for internal and external communications.

Help maintain consistency in tone, message, format, and brand across communications materials.

Social Media, Website and Digital Platform Support

Support social media planning and execution for Eagle Mine channels, including drafting posts, gathering visuals, preparing content, and assisting with scheduling.

Help monitor social media activity, engagement, and content needs in coordination with the Supervisor, Communications and Brand Strategy.

Support website content updates, event postings, basic page updates, and routing of website-related inquiries as needed.

Support day-to-day management of communications platforms, including Beekeeper, website tools, forms, digital displays, and other communications systems.

Maintain organized digital files, contact lists, content calendars, photo/video libraries, templates, and approved communications resources.

Brand, Creative, and Swag Support

Support brand consistency across Eagle Mine materials, including flyers, presentations, signage, digital content, event materials, giveaways, and employee-facing content.

Assist with swag inventory, ordering, distribution, employee store support, giveaways, and promotional materials related to communications and engagement activities.

Help coordinate with vendors, printers, designers, photographers, and other partners to support communications and brand needs.

Assist with maintaining communication assets, templates, brand files, photos, and approved materials.

Communications Administration and Project Support

Coordinate vendor setup, purchase orders, check requests, invoices, and budget tracking for communications and brand activities as directed.

Maintain organized records, calendars, content files, project trackers, and reporting materials related to communications activities.

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting related to communications, platforms, social media, employee engagement communications, and content performance.

Provide logistical and administrative support during crisis communications, including tracking updates, preparing materials, coordinating distribution, and supporting internal communication channels.

Support special projects related to Michigan operations, internal communications, external communications, brand, digital platforms, and CCER priorities.

Maintain organized records, calendars, communication materials, and reporting support related to employee engagement surveys, pulse checks, and employee feedback activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business administration, journalism, English, or a related field preferred.

1–3 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, administration, digital media, event communications, or a related field preferred.

Experience in a heavy industrial, mining, manufacturing, construction, or operational environment is an asset.

Strong writing, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Comfortable creating basic communications materials, including flyers, posts, graphics, presentations, photos, videos, and event materials.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms, content management systems, forms platforms, or employee communication tools preferred.

Ability to work with employees, departments, vendors, and external partners in a professional and responsive manner.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

HSEC ACCOUNTABILITIES
