About the Role:

The DSD Assistant (Director of Staff Development Assistant) plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Staff Development to enhance the professional growth and effectiveness of the organization's workforce. This position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating staff development programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with industry standards. The role involves managing logistics, communications, and data related to training initiatives, while also assisting in the evaluation and continuous improvement of development activities. The DSD Assistant acts as a liaison between staff, management, and external training providers to foster a culture of learning and development. Ultimately, this position contributes to building a skilled, motivated, and high-performing team that drives organizational success.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience in administrative support or coordination roles, preferably within staff development or human resources.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with learning management systems (LMS).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related discipline.
Experience working in staff development, training coordination, or talent management.
Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques to assess training impact.
Certification in training or human resources (e.g., CPTD, SHRM-CP) is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Director of Staff Development in planning, organizing, and executing staff training and development programs.
Coordinate scheduling, venue arrangements, and materials preparation for workshops, seminars, and training sessions.
Maintain accurate records of staff participation, training outcomes, and professional development progress.
Communicate with employees and management to identify training needs and gather feedback for program improvement.
Support the evaluation of training effectiveness through surveys, assessments, and data analysis.
Collaborate with external vendors and training providers to arrange specialized learning opportunities.
Prepare reports and presentations related to staff development activities for senior leadership.
Manage administrative tasks such as budget tracking, procurement of training resources, and maintaining development databases.

Skills:

The DSD Assistant utilizes strong organizational and multitasking skills daily to coordinate complex training schedules and ensure seamless execution of development programs. Communication skills are essential for liaising with staff, management, and external vendors to understand needs and convey information clearly. Proficiency with software tools like Microsoft Office and learning management systems enables efficient management of training records and reporting. Analytical skills support the evaluation of program effectiveness through data collection and interpretation, guiding continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, interpersonal skills foster collaboration and a positive learning environment, contributing to the overall success of staff development initiatives.
